Al Coppola
Former Law Intern Al Coppola returned to IEI this past summer as a Dorm Leader. “It was a truly amazing experience!” he writes. He is in graduate school at Fordham University, where he’s studying 18th-century British literature and teaching two sections of freshman writing. “This year I will be drafting my dissertation proposal, after having passed my comprehensive exams last spring.,” he says. Al, who got a bachelor’s degree from Yale and a master’s degree from NYU, now lives in the Bronx. (updated Oct. 2003)

Aron Schwartz
Congratulations to New Yorker Aron Schwartz, who became the proud father of Gavin Tyler during the Blackout of 2003! Aron, who has J.D. and MBA degrees from UCLA, is vice president of a private equity firm, Fenway Partners. He writes, “Other accomplishments include obtaining four degrees in three years despite losing my father one month before graduating from college.” He adds, “My IEI Internship profoundly shaped my interests in international relations, leading me to get a second bachelor's degree in I.R. and to focus on international commercial law in law school. I hope to return to international relations in the future, perhaps working at the State Department.” (updated Oct. 2003)
