She’s also acted as the historian and visual consultant on two Michael Mann films. Rebekah, who received a Ph.D. in photographic history as material culture from Boston University in 2008, also holds a bachelor’s degree in American literature from Columbia University. She writes, “I really enjoyed my experience with IEI. I loved the work I was doing at the Museum of London dig. It was an absolutely amazing archaeological dig. I had been on digs before and went on digs after but rescue archaeology in the heart of London was truly thrilling -- especially working in the warehouse filled with skulls from a smallpox epidemic. It was a fantastic placement.” (updated Oct. 2009)

I can't believe I was an Intern half my life ago, and now I've seen countless of my own former students attend your program as well. Plus, a good friend of mine (Jill May) became one of your RAs! I still fondly remember many great times from the summer of 1991.” Stephanie keeps in touch with Andrea (Sachs) Otto – “who I now live much closer to”!
