She is currently a Development Specialist at the museum’s Traveling Exhibition Service. She writes, “My job requires some fund-raising but also includes work with the Smithsonian National Board. Since our shows travel all over the country, we want to make sure that we let our Board know about a show when it comes to their hometown.” She took some time off this summer to visit Ocracoke, NC, with her husband and his family. They are planning a fall trip to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. The former Theatre Intern says, “I think theatre and improv teach people to be comfortable in front of a crowd and that if mistakes are made, you just need to roll with the punches. It also teaches you how to read people so you can show them a side of you that makes them comfortable.” Her most memorable Internship experience was “visiting one of the theatres and getting to try on an elaborate 16th-century gown. I still have that picture somewhere.” (updated Sept. 2008) | | |
