Lindsay Abeles
Lindsay Abeles is studying agricultural communications at the University of Illinois. She writes, “Because of my Internship, I feel as though I have accomplished so much already. I feel like I have much more experience and a foot up in the job world.” Lindsay has stayed in touch with Lauren Segal, Emily Grossman, Ashley Friedman, Cory Cole, David Lynn, Justin Cooper, Jon Smolin, Mike Raphael, Andrew Cohen, and more. Rachel Bailin
Floridian Rachel Bailin moved far north to go to college. She attends the University of Michigan. She writes, “I really enjoyed the Special Processes Photography program and everything I learned from it.” (updated Nov. 2005)

Charlotte Braham
Charlotte Braham is majoring in psychology at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. During her Social Services Internship, she worked at a school for autistic children. “The university was impressed that at such a young age I have already been in an Internship, not to mention abroad,” she says. She fondly recalls “taking the Tube to work every day, reading the newspaper, and falling asleep just in time to miss my stop. She keeps in touch with Paige Buring. (updated Nov. 2005)

Jennifer Brandt

Lelia Chaisson
Lelia Chaisson is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, where she is majoring in public health. This summer, she worked at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the bioethics department. A former Documentary Photography Intern, Lelia says a highlight was seeing Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre. (updated Oct. 2006)

Cory Cole
After his summer at IEI, Cory Cole attended American University and majored in communications. He writes, “I ventured into reality TV, purely as a joke, and ended up on an MTV special called Borrow my Crew with Sean "P Diddy" Combs. I told Diddy about my summer in London, but it got cut from the show! My best friends to this day are David Lynn and Ricky Gilbert (both IEI alums). We recently appeared on a TV show together. (I'm hooked) We were on Chain Reaction on GSN. We lost, but we represented IEI! Big shout outs to my girl Julie Wang!” (updated Oct. 2006) 

Andrew Coren
Floridian Andrew Coren attends the University of Pennsylvania, where he is majoring in economics. The former Law Intern says his most memorable experience was “listening to police interviews of people who were on trial for murder.” He’s in touch with David Lynn, Mick Duchon, Ricky Gilbert and Jon Smolin. Samantha Engel
Samantha Engel attends Ithaca College. This summer, the former Art Gallery Intern was a counselor at a summer camp. “Working in a professional gallery in London was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had,” she writes. Dara Felker
Dara Felker is majoring in fashion merchandising at the University of Rhode Island and doing an internship at Michael Kors. This summer she interned for Betsey Johnson in Los Angeles. The former Fashion & Design Intern is in contact with Amanda Glickman and Jenna Barsky. (updated Oct. 2007)

Shelby Fox
Shelby Fox had a great summer interning at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she did marketing and publicity for TriStar Pictures. The former Law Intern attends the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is majoring in journalism and mass communications. She’s kept in touch with Erica Levin and Rachel Mangels. Amanda Glickman
Amanda Glickman attends Penn State University and hasn’t chosen a major yet. She was in IEI’s Fashion and Design program. Amanda keeps in touch with Dara Felker, Lauren LaMorte, Lizzie Kimmel and Ilana Kamens. (updated Nov. 2005)

Rebecca Goldstein
Since IEI, Rebecca Goldstein has created various documentaries and produced a documentary for a rock band in New York City. Her most memorable IEI experience was “creating my own film.” Rebecca, a high school senior in New York, still keeps in touch with Mallory Bernstein. (updated Nov. 2005)

Allison Gross
Allison Gross wrote from American University, where she is majoring in public communications. Back home, after her IEI Internship with the London Symphony Orchestra, she did a Public Relations Internship for Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens. “Everyday was memorable,” she says, reminiscing about IEI. “I loved the freedom and independence I had while being in London. I also came away with two friends I will keep in touch with for life ­ Grace Hood and Hannah Beck.” (updated Nov. 2005)

Blake Halperin
Blake Halperin attends the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service; he’s majoring in international economics. During the summer he took a “eurotrip” with friends from high school and then interned at Glaceau, the makers of Vitamin Water. He’s still in touch with David Lynn, Tania Isacoff and Jeff Witten. Rachel Harvey
Rachel Harvey is in high school in Canton, MA. Since her Law Internship, she has been president of her school’s student government and Mock Trial Captain. She says her IEI experience helped her in the latter role. “I loved my time at IEI! It was literally a life-changing experience. Thank you so much,” she writes. (updated Nov. 2005)

Grace Hood
Former Public Relations Intern Grace Hood is a sophomore at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, majoring in advertising and marketing communications. “IEI was the best personal and professional experience I ever had,” she writes. “It prepared me not only for my future career, but it also gave me the independence I had been seeking throughout high school and taught me how to adapt to new surroundings. Living away from home even for the summer made adjusting to college life a whole lot easier. What I learned during my Internship at Purple PR in London is helpful in my advertising and marketing classes and prepared me for my current internship at a corporate events firm.” Grace has kept in touch with Allison Gross and Hannah Beck. Tania Isacoff

Ilana Kamens
Ilana Kamens is a political science major at Penn State University. “My Law Internship helped me discover what field and major I wanted to go into in college,” she says. Courtney Kiel
Courtney Kiel attends Syracuse University, where she is majoring in inclusive education, with the goal of degrees in elementary education, special education and sociology. “I wrote my college admissions essay on my experience working with special needs children in London. I always knew that I wanted to work with children, but I never understood how much I loved working with special needs children until I did my Social Services Internship,” she writes. Lizzie Kimmel
Lizzie Kimmel, a former Community Service Intern, is majoring in elementary education at Boston University. “IEI was one of -- if not the -- best experiences of my life. It forced me to reach outside my comfort zone and experience a totally different lifestyle. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend,” she says. Jason Krochak
Jason Krochak is majoring in sports management at the University of Michigan. He is particularly proud of two accomplishments since his IEI Internship: “Acceptance into the Shipman Scholarship Society at the University of Michigan and winning the Anuj Agarwal Memorial Scholarship award at Syosset High School.” He keeps in touch with Ricky Gilbert, Jon Smolin, Cory Cole and David Lynn. Rachael Nichols
After her IEI Internship, Rachael Nichols did an Internship with Dan DeLuca, the music critic from the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper. Rachael attends the College of Charleston in South Carolina, where she is majoring in communications. She has stayed in touch with Julie Biron and Reid Schwartz. (updated Nov. 2005)

Diana Norton
This summer, Diana Norton traveled to Denmark, Italy and London, where she checked out the University of London, Queen Mary College. This fall, she’s studying abroad there and is happy to be back in London. Diana is a junior at Smith College, where she’s majoring in American Studies. Danielle Steinberg
Danielle Steinberg attends George Washington University. “It has a great program for my interests and I am having an amazing time,” she says, adding, “I absolutely loved my Social Services Internship. Working with the autistic children confirmed my decision to become a psychology major with a concentration in special education. It was a wonderful experience.” She’s also thinking about a career in media or broadcasting. Danielle keeps in touch with Ariel Brettholz, Rachel Lewis, Amanda Krasnoff and Lizzie Kimmel. Lauren Elyse Uhl
Lauren Elyse Uhl is an education major hoping to teach or work with autistic children. During IEI, she interned at Osborne Solicitors in Camden Town. She writes, “After that summer I kept in contact with the lawyers that I worked for and went out to dinner with one couple when I returned to London later that summer with my family.” (updated Oct. 2006)

Carlye Wayne
Carlye Wayne is a senior in high school in Los Angeles. This summer she worked at a real estate agency, Sotheby’s, where she was able to draw on her experience from her IEI Internship at Planet Hollywood. Jake Yormak attends the University of Pennsylvania.
