Sam Anzel
Sam Anzel is a student at the University of Miami, where he is majoring in film and creative writing. This summer he interned at an advertising agency in NYC called Grey. “My Internship gave me a jump start into the video production world,” he writes, “and it made me appreciate the bare basics for what it takes to create a film.” In the future, he’s hoping to get involved in TV or film. The former Video Production Intern considers an IEI highlight “showing the films to everyone at the gallery at the end of the programme.” He keeps in touch with Julie Berkowitz. (updated Sept. 2008)
Sydney Burdick
Sydney Burdick is in her final semester at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she’s majoring in magazine journalism and marketing. “My major accomplishment since attending IEI would be not only interning for multiple magazine publications, such as GQ, but also starting my own magazine at UW-Madison.” This summer, after studying abroad in South Africa for six months, she traveled around Germany and Europe. She writes, “My Fashion & Design classes were extremely valuable and worthwhile. My most memorable experiences were winning the "Best Dress” award as well as simply being able to live and experience British culture on a day-to-day basis. The value that living abroad instills in a student, in my opinion, is unparalleled in terms of what it can do for one's independence and interest in culture. I also consider my recent study abroad in South Africa as a major accomplishment -- one that my experience at IEI (having already lived abroad) greatly influenced.” Sydney has stayed in touch with her cousin, “who I randomly met at IEI! I also came across a fellow IEIer studying abroad in South Africa at the same time.” (updated Oct. 2009)
Dana Bourne
Dana Bourne is a freshman at Bard College. This summer, she taught ballet and worked as a baby-sitter. The former Photography Intern writes, “I loved my first experience stopping strangers for headshots in Camden Town. I got to photograph and talk with a very interesting mix of people.” She keeps in touch with Christina Skonberg, Jessie Tapan, Alex Snape and Rye Skelton. (updated Oct. 2007)
Caitlyn Corbin
Caitlyn Corbin is a graduate student at the Indiana University School of Education; she did her undergrad studies (in Social Studies) there are well. She writes, “I will be certified as a history teacher in May 2010. Then, I plan to attend graduate school at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton to get my MSW and become a Social Worker.” About her summer in London, she says, “Attending IEI was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed my Internship at the Fine Art Society. One of the most memorable days was when I went to the Sotheby's auction and we bought a painting by Whistler.” Caitlyn is in touch with Haley Rubin. (updated Oct. 2009)
Anna DeMartini
After spending the summer traveling to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin, Anna DeMartini is settling down in Ohio. She’s a student at Denison University and happily reports that was her first choice for college. The former Documentary Photography Intern wrote her college essay on her experience at IEI. Alexandra Ferrari
Alexandra Ferrari is a sophomore business major at the University of Miami. She did a lot of traveling this summer; her stops included Tokyo, Sydney, London and Malta. She also interned in the finance department of a local Village Hall. A former Hotel Management Intern, Alexandra writes, “I loved learning about the inner workings of a four-star hotel in major city; it was amazing to see how daily operations are carried out.” (updated Oct. 2007)
Emma Gaines
Former Community Service Intern Emma Gaines is studying psychology and child development at Tufts University, where she is a sophomore. This summer she did an internship at New York Presbyterian Psychiatric Hospital. (updated Sept. 2008)
Rachel Goodman
Rachel Goodman is majoring in telecommunications and culture at Indiana University. “I got into the college of my choice, thanks to my essay about IEI and my IEI college recommendation,” says the former Public Relations Intern. “The essay focused a lot on my Internship. It spoke about how I grew up and matured because of my experiences on the programme.” This summer, she worked at Smith Brothers and went down the shore every weekend. She’s stayed in touch with Arianna Gold, Rachel Karnofsky, Sam Sternback, Lauren Jacobson, Jackie Penn and Jamie Lubetkin. (updated Oct. 2006)
Nikki Haber
Former Journalism Intern Nikki Haber is continuing in that field at the University of Miami, where she is majoring in broadcast journalism. This summer, Nikki interned in New York City at a company called Freeze 24/7 and traveled to Mexico, England and France. Ashley Huddleston
Ashley Huddleston is pursuing her interest in medicine at the University of Rochester, where she is majoring in biology. “During my IEI Internship, it was a privilege to be able to work in a medical environment when I had not even graduated from high school.” This summer, she worked at a camp. Charlotte Kramer
“I'm going to college to be a photography major, and my best work from London was what made my portfolio,” writes Charlotte Kramer, who attends Syracuse University. This summer, she worked at Rugged Bear, a kids clothing store. She writes, “I’m in touch with the best friends I made on the trip. It might be a five-minute chat with Alexa Polokoff in between work and lacrosse practice or a 10-minute phone call from Emma Gaines on my birthday. My favorite so far was running into Jon Ellis and numerous other IEI alums in the Bahamas for our spring breaks.” (updated Oct. 2006)
Parnell Krupp
Since his Strategic Studies Internship, Parnell Krupp has had a lot of success. He graduated at the top of his class at Franklin Academy, received the Headmaster's Award for Academic Excellence and the Phoenix Award, and gave the commencement speech. He’s now enrolled at American University, where he will be studying International Relations. He recently moved with his family from New Jersey to Savannah, Georgia. (updated Oct. 2006)
Tommy Maneykowski
Tommy Maneykowski is finishing his freshman year at Columbia College Chicago, where he is studying audio, design and production, along with photography. Caroline Rubin
Former Banking Intern Caroline Rubin is a student at Washington University in St. Louis. She had the privilege of being in Italy this summer during the World Cup. Kavita Shah
Kavita Shah is a high school senior in California. She writes, “This summer I was fortunate enough to land an internship at KQED, a public broadcasting company based in San Francisco. I worked on a few KQED-produced television programs and learned a lot I did not know about the industry. I also traveled to Israel, Jordan, and India-- all three of which were amazing places.” She’s in touch with Anjali Gill, Neha Parikh, Anna DeMartini, Tiffany Lu and Breanna Gaines. Alex Snape
Former Theatre Intern Alex Snape is a freshman at George Washington University. He writes, “In March, my father passed away of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and I was given the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. and meet with my Congressman, Rodney Frelinghuysen. The goal of the trip was to persuade him to sign the ALS Registry Act, which would create a National ALS Registry. After a successful meeting, we were able to get him to sign the act. Doing this in honor of my father is what I feel to be my biggest accomplishment since IEI.” This summer, he landed an internship at British Telecommunications’ U.S. office and took a summer course at Fordham University. Lauren Steinberg
Lauren Steinberg attends Vanderbilt University. This summer, she worked at a doctor’s office. She wrote about her Public Relations Internship for her college essays. “I think it helped me get accepted,” she says. Julie Sutula
Former Hotel Management Intern Julie Sutula is a sophomore in Boston University’s hospitality administration program. She had a very busy summer: she worked at a restaurant in Brookline, MA, was assistant director at a golf camp, and did an unpaid internship to set up an upcoming gala through the Newbury Street League in Boston.

Jeffrey White
Former Law Intern Jeffrey White writes, “My biggest accomplishment since IEI is getting into a top-notch school, Washington and Lee University, and ending up third in my graduating class.” Jeffrey, who plans to major in economics, worked as a sales associate Banana Republic this summer.
