 Art and art-history lovers can get a taste of behind-the-scenes gallery work in one of London's most prestigious art galleries, like The Fine Art Society. Research a painting, catalog art work for displays, negotiate the sale of fine art for investment and visit the studios of participating artists. The Intern assigned to the world-renowned Sotheby's will learn the secrets of preparing for an auction and participate in the fast-paced excitement and fever of the marketplace. "This week I switched into the British Pictures Department at Sotheby’s. I got to catalogue for the first time, which involves looking at paintings up close out of the frame and examining them under ultraviolet light to see what has been retouched.
