Beautiful Things Allie Cremo, Public Relations/Marketing/Advertising My first day at Purple PR was probably one of my scariest, most intimidating moments ever. Imagine meeting the director of a huge company who could make or break you in the business that you’ve had your heart set on. It reminded me of the movie The Devil Wears Prada: the office was designed to the “T,” the people were beautiful in beautiful clothing and selling beautiful things. I was scared that if I messed up just one thing, then I would be done. After one week, I’m feeling better. I love my mentor; she is amazing and hip and young. Two older interns work here in the same department with me, and we are in charge of press. Mainly, we do the folders for the clients, going through all the London magazines and newspapers, and sometimes a few international ones, to mark clients that are cited. I also run errands to stores to return clothes. The other day a supermodel came into the office for a photo shoot, which was a big deal, and I was asked to help. I’m really enjoying my internship so far. |
