A Use for Latin
Alex Goldberg, Archaeology

My archaeology internship has fulfilled my highest expectations. Instead of getting coffee for my boss, I actually got to go to an archeological city. I found tile and pottery from the Roman Era, which is especially interesting because I speak Latin. I was able to use my knowledge of Latin to read inscriptions on the tile; I never expected to make a connection between the classroom and work.

Although I began this experience with the attitude that archaeology would be a hobby, I can more and more see myself taking this up as a profession. I am very excited about my new passion for archeology and am looking forward to my two weeks at the Museum of London.
