Reflections From An Alum Kavita Shah, Journalism After writing the front page article for the IEI student newspaper, I returned home with a new passion and immediately joined my school paper. Although I joined in my junior year of high school, I did not feel behind at all (in fact I felt ahead) because I had already been taught about the journalistic style of writing and other skills during my IEI Media & Design Workshop. IEI gave me the necessary skills to be noticed and selected by both my school newspaper and as an intern by KQED, a Northern California-based public broadcasting company. Since that summer, I’ve decided to pursue a career in journalism. |
