I was surprised at the importance of the tasks my co-workers gave to me. I had to write e-mails to important people and work with the credit card charges for one day in the hotel. That was a very difficult project, but I took it head on and rolled with the punches. My co-workers have really welcomed me into their office and accepted me as one of their own.

In just one week, I’ve learned so much about the hotel industry. Through this experience, I’ve gained insight into what I do and don’t want in a future career. While hotel management and accounting are interesting fields, they’re not for me. It just doesn’t feel right. However, I’ve gained respect and understanding for this industry and for what these jobs entail.
