The Real World Jeff White, Law
The summer of 2005 has changed my life. I met amazing people, made lifelong friendships, and had unforgettable experiences. Through my Law Internship, I managed to learn what it was like firsthand to live in the “real world” as a British barrister. I’ve learned the usual “adult” things responsibility, punctuality, etc. However, the most important thing I’ve learned as a “mini-pupil” is, of course, the law!
I have been shown the full view of a courtroom, been immersed in a case, and have even had the opportunity to have a sitting with the high court judge, Mrs. Justice Dobbs (a high honor, I might add). My preceptor, a very distinguished barrister, has taught me so many things, and he is the reason why I will pursue litigation and the law in the United States and possibly internationally.
My preceptor truly knew who I was, despite all his hard work. My letter of recommendation was stellar and I will carry it with me the rest of my life. The letter was simply the peak of a truly unforgettable summer a summer that, like London, changed my life forever.
